Isn’t soap harsh on your skin?

Whether a soap will be harsh on your skin is largely a question of formulation. As long as you don’t have a sensitivity to one of the ingredients, a soap properly formulated for hand/body use should leave your skin feeling clean without dryness or irritation. Can I use your solid dish soap on my hands and body?

It’s not dangerous, in fact, it makes a great mechanic’s soap, but overuse may cause some dryness. Like any good dish soap/detergent, our solid dish soap is formulated to remove greasy residues by breaking down oils. It doesn’t really make a distinction between the oils on your dishes that you’d like removed and the oils in your skin that are supposed to be there. If you notice some dryness after using it, we recommend either wearing gloves during dishwashing, or using a good moisturizer after.

How do I use your solid dish soap?

For the most part, it’s much the same as how you already wash dishes. We find you get the richest lather by swirling around the top of the soap with a wet round brush, but a sponge will certainly work just fine if that’s what you’re more comfortable with. You can even fill a dish bin with soapy water by running the bar itself under the tap while rubbing it. One important difference to remember though is to drain off any excess water if you’re storing your solid dish soap in a container that doesn’t have its own drainage. Simply tip the container over when you’re done using it and let any accumulated water drain out.

Can you accommodate allergies/skin sensitivities?

Usually, yes! My own skin sensitivities were one of the reasons I started making soap in the first place. Use the Contact Us form to let me know what you need and I’ll do everything short of breaking the laws of chemistry and physics to try and come up with a formulation that works for you.

Do you take custom orders? And if so, what are the requirements?

Absolutely! I love creating unique guest/party favors for special events! A Custom Order Contract can be initiated through the Contact Us form. We require a 10 bar minimum and a 50% deposit due at signing.

What’s your refund/return policy?

If your soap is unused, you can return it in its original packaging within 30 days of your purchase. You can either cover the cost of the return shipping yourself or we can provide a return label upon request and deduct the shipping costs from your refund.

If your soap has been used, it cannot be returned but refunds will still be offered for quality issues or in cases of allergy, sensitivity, or skin irritation.
